Year 8 The English Civil War was brought to life when Steve Parish and Jo Ellis visited Year 8 at Greneway. They made the pupils realise how different life would have been in times of the English Civil War. When Steve fired his musket, the pupils appreciated how loud and smoky a battlefield would have been. This way of learning was a great hit with the pupils.Adam declared, "I enjoyed the musket firing and the army routines. People were almost completely self sufficient and made their own gunpowder in the 1640's. |
"When I dressed up as a lady from 1640's the clothes were very warm. I enjoyed this way of learning about History". Jade "I liked handling the artifact which Jo & Steve brought in. Life in the Civil War was much harder than I realised". Sarah

Medieval Day by Sophie 7LF The highlight of the day was when Steve showed us all of the animals he killed and then he showed them up close. The most funny part was when he showed the bear right up in Mel's face and that it was so horrible that Mel hid behind me. It was a good day and I am pleased that I don't live in medieval times. It was a fun day to learn about their lives. |
